For any one aged 7 or up, the scheme is a great way to improve and monitor your climbing development. There are five different certificated levels which your instructor can guide you through. You also receive a log book where you record your progress and keep records of your achievements.

national indoor climbing achievement scheme
At the Barn we provide a scheme called Nicas. It is a national proficiency scheme that develops and accredits the skills of indoor climbing. For any one aged 12 or up, the scheme is a great way to improve and monitor your climbing development. There are five different certificated levels which your instructor can guide you through. You also receive a log book where you record your progress and keep records of your achievements.
We run this scheme as part of our Kids' Club on Saturday and Sunday during our Barn Youth Climbing Club sessions (B.Y.C.C). If you or your child are aged 7+ and are keen to get started,.
The Barn Climbing Wall is a Primary Centre for Nicas, which means we can assess all five levels and also give inductions to organisations wishing to become awarding centres. Please contact The Barn for more information. To find out more about the Nicas Scheme please follow the link below to the official Nicas website.
